2025 Week 17

While watching movies, I always imagined what it will be like to be in a concert as I see them in movies. On a similar note I have consistently enjoyed listening to soundtracks from some of the movies I’ve watched in the past.

This week, I had the chance to have a taste of both worlds - I attended a Film Music concert, where soundtracks from popular movie franchises were performed by an orchestra.

It was also the first time I entered the Berlin Philharmonie. A building dedicated for events like this one. I’ve passed this building numerous times and wondered what happens inside of it and I finally found out.

Added to all the first-timers, Mercy and I attended this with another couple who were also coming to Berlin Philharmonie for the first time.

For me it was great to see something that I had imagined numerous times come to reality. The experience wasn’t short of expectations and was great to see so much harmony and coordination of people using their skills together.

In my pre-university days, I once lead a band for my church association and conference. As the conductor and leader, I remembered working so hard to get everyone playing together while also training a few how to beat the drums. In the end we would perform at the parade and have people give us praises. I’m saying this to say that there’s so much that has goes in (leadership, patience and skill) to make an Orchestra such as the one I went to be outstanding and for that, much kudos to the Philharmonie Leipzig for the great performance.

To me, I look forward to having more opportunities to do some of the things I had dreamt of.

Till next time, Bosun.
